The First Look
1st Assistant Director
The film was produced by Six Feet Productions in association with Capstone Pictures at Miami University. As the 1st AD I organized the schedule, coordinated with locations and parking services, wrote and distributed call sheets, managed all departments while on set, and kept everything running!
As the assistant director, I got to use my creative skills when collaborating with the director and DP as well as my leadership and organizational skills when working with the whole crew.
Preproduction and days on set brought many challenges which required some quick thinking and creative problem solving. Some issues included scheduling conflicts among actors and locations, uncontrolled spaces where civilians wandered into frame, and tight spaces forced us to adjust the shot list.
Each challenge was a new opportunity to learn and grow.​
